BOTANICAL PERFUME IS ALIVE; THEREFORE NO RELEASE IS EVER THE SAME. THE NUANCE OF EACH SEASON CREATES A SUBTLE UNIQUE ASPECT TO EACH PERFUME.

Our philosophy begins with the whole plant.

We believe there is an aliveness in botanical perfume that comes from preserving nature in all its complexity. Rather than reducing nature to its most recognisable notes, we want to experience the plant in its entirety.

For this reason, we do not use natural isolates like 99% of natural perfumers. While isolates may begin with a natural material, they separate a single aromatic molecule from the whole. We choose instead to work with complete botanical extracts: essential oils, absolutes, CO₂ extracts and tinctures, where hundreds of naturally occurring compounds remain together.

This philosophy takes us back to the source.

We seek out growers and distillers whose knowledge is intimately connected to a particular plant and place. In Madagascar, we work with producers cultivating aromatic plants within biodiverse agroecological systems, where different species grow together and the remnants of one harvest become fuel for the next. On Kangaroo Island, we source eucalyptus from the island’s last commercial eucalyptus distillery, where the native Narrow Leaf Mallee is harvested and distilled on the land where it grows. In Western Australia, our sandalwood comes from a supply chain shaped by Indigenous custodianship, where the provenance of the tree can be traced from Country to oil.

These are not industrial fragrance materials selected from a catalogue. They carry the character of species, soil, climate, harvest and the hands that transformed the plant into oil.

Some perfumers consider the decision to work only with whole botanical materials a limitation. To us, nature is the opposite. Across different landscapes, seasons, harvests and methods of extraction, its possibilities feel endless.

We make perfume that feels alive because the materials we begin with are whole, living and alive.
